![]() It seems that I put the most miles on my cars when they're new and back off as they age. On my 13th year of driving now, recently purchased my 4th vehicle. Oct 96 - May 97 - 1993 Pontiac Grand Am - had around 33K miles on it when purchased. No repairs needed while I had it, besides when I backed out of a driveway and got schmucked by a Pizza Hut delivery driver.totalled the car.last I heard they cut the car in half and sold the front half. May 97 - April 02 - 1994 Pontic Grand Prix - started with somewhere around 30K miles, sold at 98K. car ran pretty well for most of those years, had reoccuring brake problems, 1 tune up, and around 95K the head gasket blew. Fixed it, but car didn't run too well afterwards so off it went.Īpril 02-Jan 08 - 1996 Subaru SVX - from 55k miles to 150k - lots of problems with this one. Shortly after purchasing, water pump seized, $1500 in damage to timing belt, water pump, and 5 pulleys.
